The early morning rain did nothing to dampen the spirits of 61 excited school children as we headed off on a double decker bus to Hillsborough Castle on Tuesday 29 June. We'd done so much about the Queen's Platinum Jubilee already this year already but a trip to the Queen's official NI residence was definitely the icing on the cake!
It was a great day! We divided the children into 2 groups, p1-4 and p5-7. The younger children's workshop was 'A Victorian Wedding,' while p5-7 enjoyed 'Apply Within,' both expertly led by costumed presenters. We also enjoyed a walk around the spacious and beautiful gardens at the Castle.
The children behaved very well and looked so smart in their full school uniform! Well done! Another exciting memory from Drumhillery!
