Queen's Jubilee Tree Planting
We were delighted this morning to welcome Mr David Scott (Education Officer for the Orange Institution of Ireland) to speak to the children on the Queen's Jubilee celebrations. Mr Scott gave a very interesting and informative talk on the life of Queen Elizabeth 2 and how the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations were a significant milestone in our nation's history, given the fact that such an event has never occurred before and isn't likely to happen again. The children listened really well and were able to answer questions on the subject.
Mr Scott was accompanied by Mr David Livingstone and Mr Brian Morton.
After our short assembly a tree was planted in the school grounds to mark the event and a beautifully inscribed plaque was donated to the school by Killylea District LOL 7. Thank you for your generosity. All children were given a specially produced sports bag as a souvenir.
