Great first day at Gortatole Outdoor Education Centre! We arrived around 11:00am and were greeted by our instructor Mark who took us on a tour of the building to show the children where everything was. Lunch was at 1:00pm then off to our first activity which was caving, with instructors Mark and Jacki - great fun!
Tonight was all about some outdoor team building games which encouraged teamwork, cooperation and consideration for others. Then tea, toast and some delicious traybakes for supper and off to bed after a very busy but enjoyable first day!
Day 2
We started with kayaking on the lake near the centre with instructors Jacki and John. Everyone loved it and we got to jump in from the jetty afterwards - even Mr Campbell too!
In the afternoon it was climbing and archery. Again it was great fun! Some fearless climbers from Drumhillery and definitely some hidden talent emerged today👏👏!
Tonight we played lots of games in the hall with our instructor John, including Captain's Orders, Skipping, Rounders, Parachute games, football ⚽ ⚽ and basketball 🏀 🏀.
Definitely no-one needing rocked to sleep 💤 💤 💤 tonight but a brilliant day! Most of the children said the kayaking was the highlight 🛶🛶🛶!
Day 3 Gortatole Trip
And so our fantastic trip to Gortatole has ended! Well done to our P6-7 pupils who displayed such effort, creativity and enthusiasm over the past few days!
Today we enjoyed orienteering with Jacqui our instructor and the kids absolutely loved it!
We left at 1:00pm and arrived home around 3:00pm, with so many special memories made.
